Director Kizito David

Founder and Director

Kizito David is the founder and director of St. Athanasius Nursery and Primary School, and his fingerprints are on everything good about this place. He founded the school because he saw vulnerable children in Mengo who needed more than what was available to them, and he believed he could do something about it. More than a decade of work later, Director Kizito remains as driven and as personally invested as the day he started. He knows the name of every child in the school. He knows the stories behind the families. He is the first to arrive and often the last to leave. His leadership is not distant or administrative. It is close, warm, and hands-on. He is a man of deep Christian faith, and his values shape the culture of the entire school. Under his leadership, St. Athanasius has earned a genuine reputation in the Mengo community for integrity, care, and quality. He welcomes every visitor personally, and his door is always open to parents, donors, and partners who want to understand the work.

Nakiganda Rosemary

Nakiganda Rosemary serves as Deputy Director and School Administrator at St. Athanasius, overseeing daily operations, supporting teachers, and ensuring the wellbeing of every child. Known for her warmth, professionalism, and strong leadership, she works closely with families, staff, and students to maintain a nurturing and well-organized learning environment. Her commitment to excellence and genuine care for the school community make her an invaluable part of the St. Athanasius family.

Fr. Joseph Ssebyala

Fr. Joseph Ssebyala serves as Spiritual Director and Pastoral Guide, providing leadership in faith formation and spiritual growth throughout the school community. He oversees religious education, leads worship services, and offers guidance and support to students, staff, and families.

Through his wisdom, compassion, and dedication, he helps nurture a culture of faith, integrity, and hope that remains central to the mission and values of St. Athanasius.

Fr. Peter Bbuye

Fr. Peter Bbuye is a valued member of the pastoral team, supporting the spiritual development and wellbeing of students, families, and staff. With his approachable nature and strong community relationships, he provides pastoral care, guidance, and encouragement while helping strengthen connections between the school and the wider church community. His dedication and service contribute greatly to the supportive and faith-filled environment that defines St. Athanasius.
