St. Athanasius Nursery and Primary School is a day and boarding school in the heart of Mengo, Kampala. We have been serving children and families in this community with dedication, care, and a deep belief that every child, no matter where they come from, deserves a quality education and a safe, loving place to grow up.

We are not a big institution. We are a family. Our children are known by name. Our staff go the extra mile every single day. And our doors are open to any child who needs us, especially those who have the fewest options and the most to gain.

Our Programs

At St. Athanasius, we believe that a full education is one that develops a child in every dimension: academically, creatively, physically, spiritually, and socially. The programs below reflect that belief. None of them is optional. All of them matter.

Academics

Our academic program follows the Uganda National Curriculum and is delivered by qualified, dedicated teachers who are passionate about their students and their subjects. We teach all core subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Science, Social Studies, Religious Education, and local languages.

Music, Dance, and Drama

Performing arts are a core part of life at St. Athanasius, not a luxury extra. Every child participates in music, dance, and drama activities from an early age. They sing in groups, learn traditional and contemporary dances, perform in plays, and express themselves through movement and voice.

Creative Arts

Art, craft, and design activities give children a different kind of intelligence to develop. In our creative arts program, children draw, paint, build, cut, paste, and make. They work with their hands, make mistakes, try again, and learn to see the world differently.

Leadership Development
